Because: With the charity project “Affair of the Heart”, we have made it our mission to give children in Tanzania a future. Among other things, we support the Patandi School for children with and without disabilities. Become a hero too! Get involved!

Our charity project enables a future.

We love Tanzania: its nature, its wild animals, but most of all its people. And that’s exactly why we support the children of the Patandi School in Tengeru, a village near Arusha. We aim to provide a future for young people, both with and without disabilities – and now we are looking for many heroes! Because the adventure of life needs heroes.

Because education is a matter of the heart

Our nature is your adventure, and our heartfelt concern is education. That’s why we are committed to those for whom education is a luxury. Although the Patandi School in Tanzania is state-run and the tuition is free, attending it involves many additional costs. Many families cannot afford these expenses, which include money for food, clothing, school supplies, medicine, and much more.

We want to change this with your help!

Here's how you can help:

Whether you are dedicated parents from a support association, a sports club, an active poker or Doppelkopf group, a responsible company, or simply an individual who wants to help: there are many ways to support. You have the option to sponsor individual children for an entire school year or to purchase important items locally—like a fruit tree for healthy nutrition. We have put together various hero packages that you can book.

The initiators behind the charity project

Every crisis presents an opportunity—and Guruguru Safaris seized it for the children of Patandi School. When COVID-19 restrictions made travel in Tanzania impossible, the safari vehicle was quickly repurposed into a service vehicle for the children of Patandi School, such as for medical trips. This led to the creation of the charity project “Affair of the Heart.”

Peter Osmund Mponda (pictured on the left) from Guruguru Safaris, as a safari guide, provides his guests with unique experiences in Tanzania. He takes care of the on-the-ground implementation of the aid measures.

Ralf Sandner (pictured on the right) supports the aid efforts from Germany. Since his first visit to Tanzania in 2012, the country has become a second home to him, and the welfare of its people a matter of the heart.
